Drama HE POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP (PRSS)

DramaHE are delighted to be able to offer awards up to £500 per application in each academic year, to postgraduate researchers in DramaHE departments/units to facilitate giving papers or equivalent presentations at conferences or symposia. Since the move towards hybrid and digital events (as well as in person), the PRSS is also available to assist postgraduate students with up to £500 for costs relating to digital/online research. This could include costs relating to internet contracts, service subscriptions, software packages, or new hardware (such as tablets, laptops or video cameras). These costs do not have to relate to a particular event but should primarily facilitate your ongoing ability to participate in various research opportunities online.

The PRSS will have three points of application per year, and you will need to submit by that date to be considered in that round of funding. The deadlines are:

· 1st November 2023 (5pm)

· 1st March 2024 (5pm)

· 1st June 2024 (5pm)

Eligibility:

We welcome applications from those registered for PG studies from DramaHE member departments/units, including:

· Postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students.

· Staff registered for MPhil/PhDs and MA by Research (unless in a FT salaried position).

· PhD candidates (eligible until graduation).

We encourage candidates who have been previously unsuccessful to apply again for this scheme (if needed). However, candidates cannot be supported twice in a period of 18 months. That means no application will be considered that falls within 18 months of the award date of any previous applications for which you were first successful.

The Application:

Please provide this in a single word document, saved with your name in the title, emailed to [email protected].

We have attached a Word Document Template to this email, but if you cannot access this please email the address above.

The word document must include:

· Name, email address, institutional affiliation and supervisors name and email address.

· A proposal for how the money will be used, including quotations for costs (100-200 words).

· A rationale for why it is essential for your research (100-200 words).

· A Supervisor statement of support.

Funding is available up to the amount of £500 per application. Funds will only be made available in GBP.

Procedure for payments
